If you knew that you were going to get shafted by your employer what would you do?

Lets say that you had a pretty good idea about their standard toward handling people in your situation. Would you quit prematurely like they want you to do or would you role with the the punches and hope they make a legal blunder? With regard to the situation, I have a lawyer waiting in the flanks for them to fire me. It is pretty much standard proceedure to fire people after they have been injured at work. They have agreed to work with me on paper but the rumor is that they plan on putting me on a job that I may not be able to do.
Answers:
As someone who knew they were getting fired 4 months before it happened...
I say keep the lawyer, make sure you document everything... just because it looks ok to the normal eye, lawyer might find something illegal or discriminatory, I say hold out!. Dont give up JUST yet... who knows... you might be able to do the job, make them all look stupid and make money in the process.
If your not comfortable with that, i'd suggest taking this time to find another job. "Tarzan principle" Dont let go of one vine before you have a firm grasp on another.
In the mean time, mind your Ps and Qs and dont give them an excuse to get rid of you. (Yeah, i know, easier said than done for some)
Dam them, stay there, and get yourself a disability advocate in addition to your legal counsel. They will be able to make sure you get the accommodations required for the disabled, permanent or temporary, it does not matter. All employers, agencies, businesses must conform to the American Disability Act no exceptions ! Good luck and get well soon !
