If you change your name... do you get a new social security number? And what happens to your credit?

Answers:
when you change your name,go to the irs a get whats called a tax payer id number
you can do this w/out changing your name

big hush hush secret sold on the internet for boocoo bucks
you owe me lunch!
no...nothing
No new SS#, the name change will be reflected in your credit reports once a company reports it to them.
NO NEW NUMBER BUT YIOU DO HAVE TO NOTIFY THE SS ADMINISTRATION...
To legally change your name, you would have to change your name on your Social Security record, but the number will not change. Because your credit report is linked to your SSN, your credit will not be affected at all.
If you legally change your name, it is up to YOU to notify the Social Security Administration and submit the necessary documents to record the change,
I'd suggest notifying any other persons or entities that would affect your life and financial status if they weren't aware of the change. It's all on YOU to do!
No, you don't get a new number.
And, no, it's not a way for you to dodge your crap credit.
